Welcome to Spring 2008, Kanoans! We're all here excited for the entering of a new season, especially one as exciting as spring. <3 Spring means new enthusiasm, new updates around the site, new systems of responding to threads; new everything, really! So it's our biggest hope that you enjoy these updates as we extend our sincerest thanks for being so patient and sticking it through with us for so long!
Many thanks to Jake for the beautiful "Spring Awakening" top logo!
An endearing thanks goes to Zathura and his website Saraneth Awakens, who did a phenomenal job on the wonderful HMTL coding of this table!

Here are those brilliant things called Rules, which govern the do's and do not's of Kanoa. This is your first stop as a future member of Kanoa. You MUST go here and read these before doing anything else. Read through them carefully, and remember to follow them out, otherwise severe consequences may follow you... Have fun!
This is where you can post questions about the site if you're confused about something, or suggestions on how you think Kanoa can be made better. Every thought counts. (Remember: Before posting a new thread, look back to see if your question was already answered or your comment or concern was already posted. That way we can avoid clutter.)
Here is where you can find detailed summaries of past Kanoan Plots. Take some time to read through a couple of them to know what you missed before you joined the site, or use them to unravel the current plot's many mysteries! You never know if you might stumble across an important gem of information...
On special events (such as birthdays, holidays, and promotions) members of Kanoa can make a thread here, to celebrate this special day and shower each other with our glorious cooking for which Kanoan members are so well-known and infamous for doing. If your birthday is coming up, then you should check over here, because chances are that some member has noticed and made a thread about it, and will soon be showering you with gifts and, most importantly, Baked Alaska.
Here is where you can chit-chat about things normally not pertaining to Kanoa. This is the only place where spam and lpam are allowed, so cherish it. The Entertainment sub-board and More Roleplaying sub-board also reside here, where you can chat about entertainment that is not of Pokemon, or create roleplays not pertaining to Kanoa, or even to Pokemon.
Here is the famed and renowned Moderator Heights (or MH) where the notorious staff of Kanoa gather to discuss future plot ideas and other juicy stuff of which we're sure all you other members wish to know about. But regrettably, you must wait your turn to come to this glorious place, or just wait for our ideas to become reality here on Kanoa. Anything can happen in MH and become reality in Kanoa... so it's a potentially dangerous place.
Here is where you can talk about subjects pertaining to Kanoa or to Pokemon. You can't go on about other things that don't have to do with those subjects here though; that has to go to Chat. The "Affiliates and Advertisements" sub-board is also here, so you can affiliate your website with Kanoa, or advertise for another website as well. The "Absenses" sub-board is here also, so please inform us of times when you won't be able to come on Kanoa here.
Here is where all of those incredible Contests throughout Kanoa are held, where rivals battle to see who will come out on top! ...Yeah, it's just a place where Moderator of the Month, Member of the Month, Pokemon of the Week, and Favorite Pokemon Competition are held. Come here each week and month to see the winners of each contest, and be sure to place your votes towards the Favorite Pokemon Competition each month.
Here is where you can post your esteemed works of art or literature for all of Kanoa to view and rate. Sprites, fanfictions, drawings, paintings, and graphic designs all fall under this category. If you have something you'd like to show the world, then post it here for Kanoans, and see how the public of Kanoa feels about it.
This is the first place that you will make your first post. Here is where you will post your character's information. You must get it accepted by a Moderator or I before you can start roleplaying though, so just remember that. Also remember to follow the guideline set out in the "Sample Sheet" and perhaps take a view in "Characters Commonly Found Throughout this Site" to see the characters that may pop up here and there.
This is where you may post a Journal/Diary for your Character as they travel through Kanoa and experience different things throughout their Journey. This is optional, but it helps to add depth and growth to your character and will help others understand your character's persona and current conflicts. And, when boredom is high, it might help matters to just make a couple entries for your character's current position and thoughts in Kanoa.
Got a fantastic idea for some characters of yours, but need some help from other Kanoan members to pull it off? Post your mini-plot here to ask for input or volunteers from other members to help out! All plots must be approved by the admin, but let your creativity soar for your characters!
Professor Cypress' Laboratory is the first stop for you on your journey. Set in a picturesque, small village with many lush hills and foliage, the Laboratory is the main source of attraction, and has seen many visitors and many aspiring trainers. The Lab is where you will receive your very first companion who will play a pivotal part in your Journey through Kanoa. Choose wisely.
The tranquil appearance of Route One stretches before you… Here, there are many new trainers such as yourself, who are also foraging for Wild Pokemon. Some of them are hungry for battle and may challenge you. This route leads to Meridianville, which is where your first Badge awaits you!
Welcome to the bustling mountain town of Meridianville, where everyone is always in some sort of rush. Meridianville is a busy village and there's always sure to be something interesting occurring here. Here is where you will battle your first Gym Leader and possibly earn yourself the first Badge of Kanoa; the Magnitude Badge.
The burning climate of Route Two awaits you as you climb down the steepy inclines of mountain and rock where Meridianville is nestled. Endless plains of wheat and grass stretch before you, and the steamy climate is nothing compared to the tempers of some of the Pokemon and trainers along this route. Route Two is just filled with Fire Pokemon of all kinds, who love the hot climate. It will lead you to the relatively small Chesto Town.
Chesto Town is a place where you can rest from the burning heat and flames of Route Two. No Gym Building here, but Chesto Town still has its own merits. Here, Chesto Berry trees and bushes practically line the streets, and there are always people picking and harvesting them. They say that someone in this eccentric town will offer you the HM: Cut if you perform some small service to them...
The climate continues to get cooler and not so unbearably hot as you exit Chesto Town. Before you spans, what seems to be, an endless sea of wheat and grain that stretches towards the horizon. The various crops are tough to work through, and there's no doubt that you'll need a Pokemon with the HM: Cut to make it through. If you didn't happen to find it in Chesto Town, perhaps consider going back there and looking around a bit more. Many Pokemon of varied types appear here; you never know what you might happen across.
Sunrise Valley is a happy and pleasant place, where everyone is willing to stop and help you if you need it. Sunrise Valley is where your second Kanoan Badge - the Sunshine Badge - awaits you. Sunrise Valley is certainly a cheerful place... At least until sunrise. Because there are many rumors of strange and mysterious things happening to this small village... Not all of them good... and they have all occured during the sunrise...
Route Four is a route of extremely serene climate, where streams flow merrily this way and that and follow the pathways that aspiring trainers tread. The air is cool and moist from all the river mist. Many Water Pokemon live around here, and it is doubtless that you will come across some. Route Four is an ideal fishing spot, and many fishermen reside along this route, who may or may not challenge you to a battle. Route Four leads to the large town known as Pearl River, where your third Kanoan Badge awaits your arrival.
Pearl River is a large town, which is surrounded by the Pearl River (for which this town is named), which is the largest river in Kanoa and empties into the sea by Rubenstone Harbor. Pearl River is home to the third Kanoan Badge; the Stream Badge. You must triumph through a very tough battle with Vivian, Pearl River's vivacious Gym Leader, to receive it.
The Teeki Teeki Wetlands are composed of several swamps and bogs - having their origins from the Pearl River - lining a narrow pathway that leads from the mild Pearl River to the eccentric town of Tamarin. The climate here is humid and warm, though not unbearably hot. Many Bug Pokemon can be found here, as well as Ground and Water Pokemon here and there.
A small and underpopulated town, filled with superstitious men and women, stretches before you. Many stories of numerous supernatural phenomena occuring here have been told and spread. Tamarin Town is home to the fourth Kanoan Badge; the Spirit Badge. You must endure a difficult battle with Tamarin Town's eccentric Gym Leader, Eldred, to receive it.
Wetashien Woods is a small and strange grove of trees, which hold the memory of a cruel time, when a ruthless and harsh city stood just beyond this poisoned and forsaken grove. Wetashien Woods is inhabited by many Poison and Psychic Pokemon. Many still remember when their lives were nothing but hardships and a never-ending nightmare. However, now there is a certain lonely beauty to the place, and many citizens of Kanoa have planted new trees, in an effort to bring back the beauty that was once lost.
Wescadia City is a large and bustling place, filled with exciting festivals and plenty of small shops and department stores. Although this place is very heavily industrialized, it does not travel the same path as the doomed Verliette City before it. Wescadia City is quite a large tourist attraction, due to many retired Gym Leaders and Elite Four who come to this spot. Wescadia City is not a Gym City however, and you can find the full story to why it is not if you take the time to look for it. Enjoy your stay in the popular destination of Wescadia City!
A medium stretch of gorgeous fields and meadows, well kept by the citizens of Wescadia City, stretches before you. Wildflowers of many types, such as lavender, heather, and pussywillow, are in great abundance along these fields. Many Normal and Grass type Pokemon can be found here. They may bewitch you if you're not careful though, because Vania Fields is known for its vanity and arrogance in its beauty from some Pokemon. Just be careful where you step, don't ask for trouble, and you'll be fine. This route will lead you to Bellevale City, where your sixth Kanoan Badge is waiting for you.
An equally large and bustling place, known as the sister city of Wescadia. Bellevale City is home to the fifth Kanoan Badge, the Spark Badge, and its electric dynamite, Jaelyn. Large department stores, arcades, and restaurants line the cobbled streets, and the city is merry and festive. People say there also lives an eccentric old woman here, who may give you the HM: Flash. From here, you may travel to Spishato Cave, which leads you underground and opens up directly at Route Seven - Andara Way. Or, you can take the more scenic route and travel to Ghiaccio Geyser, where you will pass Pinealle Lodge and Brivado Slopes and eventually end up on Route Seven - Andara Way as well.
A dark and murky cave stretches before you as you exit the bubbling personality of Bellevale City. This Cave leads you underground and will open up directly along Route Seven - Andara Way. Spishato Cave is darker than an average cave, and so you'll need the HM: Flash to get through here, otherwise you'll be feeling your way blindly about the place. And you don't want that, what with all the rather territorial Pokemon wandering around in the dark... Martial Artists train here with their Pokemon, and they're not afraid to challenge you to a battle. Take care not to trip and send a Pokemon, or someone else, into a burning rage.
As you bypass the entrance to Spishato Cave and decide to take a more scenic route, a large icecap stretches before you. It is none other than the famous Ghiaccio Geyser, where Ice Pokemon come once a week to witness the powerful eruption. If you happen across that day of the week, you can capture many types of Pokemon. The time of the eruptions are completely random, and yet the Pokemon seem to always know just when it will happen. For that reason, the Pokemon here are a superb calendar to know when to view the eruption.
Pinealle Lodge is a small village on the edge of Ghiaccio Geyser field, and the Brivado Slopes. It's quite a small place, where everything is quaint and cozy, and nothing too drastic or out-of-the-ordinary occurs. It is a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders, due to its convenient location right near Brivado Slopes.
Kanoa's greatest ski and snowboard destination awaits you! With your rented equipment, you can ride down the slopes using the preferred equipment that you chose. Mountain Pokemon appear along the perfectly kept slopes, powdered with white snow year 'round. You may come across some high-flying trainers as well, but there'll be no time for a battle along these steep slopes. As a rule, the Pokemon of Brivado Slopes are very gentle, but be wary of the occasional red card that may jump out at you when you least expect it...
As you exit Spishato Cave or Brivado Slopes, a wonder of large trees along a well-kept pathway emerges before you. Flying Pokemon are everywhere, flitting from tree to tree. If you are lucky, you may be able to find the more powerful Flying Pokemon, rather than the endless Pidgey and Spearow. Some trainers who hold Malory in very high regard can be found here; they'll most likely be searching for trouble or a good battle.
Havvel Cove is a small town that you will reach at the end of Route Seven - Andara Way and along the coast of Kanoa. Many fishermen reside here, and it's an easy going and peaceful place. There are some small shops and restaurants, and a small beach along the shore as well. It doesn't seem like much at first, but Havvel Cove might have a few surprises in store for you if you take the time to look around...
Welcome to Route Eight - Goldstretch Path; a beautiful, golden path that ambles alongside the shimmering shores of the Sea of Aegir. This path leads you from Havvel Cove to the renowned Rubenstone Harbor, where Gym Leader Malory awaits your arrival.
Welcome to the sea-side town of Rubenstone! The invigorating smell of sea air pervades this harbor town, filling one with adventuresome and high-sprited thoughts. Many sea-hardened sailors live here, and their stories of that endless azure abyss entertain the many youngsters who live in this town. There are many trainers here who wish to train long and hard, as their Gym Leader does, and are quite obsessed with Energyroots. The Gym Leader here is Malory, and she will present you with the Force Badge, if you survive the long and arduous Gym battle that awaits you here. People say that there is also a quirky sailor man here, who may present you with the HM: Surf.
You need the HM: Surf to get past here. The Sea of Aegir seems to be a veritable endless abyss of blue that stretches towards the golden horizon. Many Water Pokemon from the deep live here; some rarer than what you may be accustomed to. There are many swimmers around these parts, who will probably challenge you to many battles for a pretty penny. Be sure you've brought some Potions with you, because you're going to need it.
Welcome to the deserted and formidable Rumejin Islands. It's all wilderness from here on in. These islands are all interconnected in an amazing labyrinth of sandy stretches of land and underwater tunnels. If one doesn't know their way, it is very easy to get lost forever... For this reason, not many trainers can be found here at all. At night they say you can hear the cries of a Legendary beast... If you search diligently for it, perhaps you will find it...
A small, icy island at the end of the Sea of Aegir rises up. It is the strange Rosenburg Island that you have come across, where the seventh Kanoan Badge awaits you, as well as a Gym Battle with a Gym Leader who's frigidity knows no bounds. They say that any who live here grow cold and empty over the years and that eventually, you will come to despise the warmth if you stay long enough. For this reason, many people of Kanoa regard this place with high superstition and even some fear. This island is always cold, and seems to be in a perpetual winter. The water 'round the island is always frozen, and so are its inhabitants, only in their natures. Don't expect too much hospitality from here. The most you'll probably receive are a few frosty glares.
A narrow stretch of land extends from the back of Rosenburg Island and towards the second main land of Kanoa. As you travel along the narrow strip, it begins to extend, and soon you are faced with a wonderous amount of nature and Pokemon, thriving equally. Welcome to the shocking Route Nine - Static Plateau. There are various kinds of Pokemon here, but Electric really have the leadership. Lots of trainers filled with vigor and determination to make it to the top can be found here, so be prepared for a battle or two. Welcome to your last Route; Route Nine.
Welcome to the quaint subdistrict of Aradin City, known as Koquillah. Far from the hustle and bustle of the big city, Koquillah is a humble home to many trainers and Pokemon lovers. Though it fails in comparison to Aradin's size and Showbiz-styled attractions, Koquillah is still a loving community. Koquillah is a modest town with simple attractions, so enjoy this suburb's sweet simplicities before you head into the complex City of Aradin.
A small walkway, lined with gorgeous bushes of flowers and giant, hundred-year old trees, stretch before you that will lead you from the dull Suburbs of Koquillah to the exciting and bustling city of Aradin. Take your time and smell the roses (pun intended), for you're sure to have a rough battle ahead of you in the last Gym of Kanoa. Flowers of all kinds grow abundantly, and many Pokemon living in harmony can be found here.
A grand and large city envelops your senses as you enter through the golden city gates. There are many attractions within this place, and different places to see. Though not as big as Wescadia or Bellevale City, Aradin can still rival in size. Aradin City is also home to the eighth and final Badge of Kanoa; the Ascension Badge. Guarded by the Gym Leader, Roth, the toughest battle you've yet faced awaits you. Can you make it to the ending of your Journey? You'll just have to find out. Welcome to Aradin City.
Your Journey is almost to its climax; the Elite Four. Voussoir Tunnel is huge in size, and filled to the brim with tough Pokemon, who will rival your skills and see if indeed you are worthy of the eight Kanoan Badges you carry proudly on your personage. Voussoir Tunnel is not for the faint of heart. Only those with supreme courage and skills will emerge unharmed and victorious from this tunnel. Will you? It's all up to you. Good luck.
Journey's End is a small village, nestled a few miles away from Voussoir Tunnel. It is named as such, of course, for it is indeed nearing the end of your Kanoan Journey. Here, you may rest up and heal yourself for Victory Road, and for the Elite Four. The people here are kind and knowledgeable, and may offer you TMs that they believe may come in handy for your upcoming battle. Rest up, and enjoy these last few moments of peace, for the possibility of glory and fame awaits you on the morrow.
Victory Road at last! A place where the very air seems to emanate that of the passion and honor of hundreds of trainers, who would brave the fires of hell to see their name as a Pokemon Master and Champion of Kanoa. There's a certain sort of contagious thrill that affects those who step along this path. Perhaps it is the knowledge that within just a few hours, the pinnacle of your Kanoan journey will be before you, and you will finally see what you are truly made of as a Pokemon Trainer. Many fierce Pokemon lie in wait to challenge you to a battle, as do many trainers. Your greatest challenge yet awaits you. Welcome to Victory Road.
The final and greatest challenge is upon you. Are you ready for it? It's not too late to turn back now, and accept more training. But if you are truly ready, then head on through the double doors, where millions of trainers have passed through; some in high hopes and some with low spirits. The first member of the Elite Four awaits your arrival. Prepare for the battle of your life. Welcome to the Pokemon League.
Welcome to Team Jade, Kanoa's official trouble-making team. Team Jade has led its mischevious and dastardly actions throughout Kanoa with pride for many years, and so here, you'll have to be worthy of carrying your title as Jade Grunt. You must first swear an oath before Professor Mandria himself, which binds you to Team Jade. Sure, you can break it... but bad things happen to those who break their oaths here at Team Jade... Once done, you may choose your Starter Pokemon, and your Journey with Team Jade will begin...
Ah, the illusive home-base of Team Jade! Many have tried to find it, and some have succeeded. Any who do find it that are not a part of Jade, however, are normally... disposed of before they can leak that precious information to Jade enemies. The only surefire method of learning the way to the Jade Base is simply by joining the team. That is probably the way you found the home-base, isn't it? Welcome to Team Jade then, newcomer. Many adventures await you.
Having undergone construction for over a year now, Black's Office has been expanded and transformed into the Mission Headquarters of Team Jade. Looking for an assignment to prove your worth to Team Jade and rise through the ranks? Look no farther than here.
Once the active and busy place of training for future Jade members, the large Training Area dome is now completely deserted, and a large sign is stuck on front of the building, stating that the Jaded Training Area is closed until further notice. It is prohibited to enter, and you know what happens to those Jade members who disobey what they are told... Don't venture in here if you know what's good for you.
A vault of sorts is in the deep recesses of the Jade Hide-Out, where lies a computer database which stores all those who were ever members of Team Jade. You can find a lot of history over here, but you need the password. They say that none of them are truly gone, and are perhaps waiting for the opportune moment to strike back... Now that the Arkadian Siblings are back in power, that moment may be upon us.
A huge field of pleasantry and subtle beauty expands before you. All sorts of Pokemon come here to breed with each other and have Pokemon Eggs. Trainers can also leave their Pokemon here to breed with each other, provided that they're the same species. You can also find the Daycare Center, the Pokemon Breeding Barns, and the Safari Zone here. ***You cannot find Eggs here or breed your Pokemon here until you have been to Bellevale City. But you may visit the Pokemon Breeding Barns, Daycare Center, and Safari Zone***
***Available after Wetashien Woods*** This is the infamous cursed Valley of Death, where many superstitions and tales of evil reside. This valley is more of a desert in actuality. Few trainers who go in here ever come out again... it isn't called Valle de la Muerte for nothing... The place is cursed, most people say. Avoid traveling alone... especially at night-time. Who knows what beasts could appear before you?
How odd... a Strange Forest in the middle of nowhere. During summer, this Forest would be nothing out of the ordinary, but during winter... well, there is something to be said about it. It is still green and verdant - foliage still grows abundantly, and no leaves have fallen from the trees, or changed colors. A perpetually green forest in Kanoa... Now that's something you don't see everyday...
Once a month, a Pokemon Contest is held for all members of Kanoa to participate, and dazzle the audience with their original movesets and creative ideas to create a performance worth remembering. Don't forget to be original, and to stick to the Rules. If you fail to obey them, the overall consequence could be disqualification. Good luck!
The famous KCC, where trainers all over Kanoa gather, is actually placed in Pearl River, but you may visit it any time you like. The KCC has an ever-growing number of floors with many ways to divert and entertain trainers.
